Description
In the UBTS project (UMTS Based Telemedicine System) a basic platform was developed for the provision of UMTS network-based applications. Two specific m-health (mobile health) applications were then developed for this platform, both of which were based on sending information (photos, questionnaires, etc.) from mobile telephones to a hospital server.
- Mobile CMA provides support for following of Outpatient Major Surgery Unit patients, who can be discharged shortly after an operation without the previously required hospitalisation.
- Mobile DERMA is a system for providing subjective data for the following of Dermatology Unit patients, who are placed under observation for a period of between one and three months. Their post-operative evolution can thus be monitored with the minimum of hospital visits.
