Description
The main goal of the FutuRES project is to develop a set of tools which are technologically and conceptually innovative and oriented to:
- Improve the quality of life, the health and the relationship with the environment of the elderly who are institutionalized and boost their independence, as far as possible, through the personal motivation encouraging their active participation in the building of the society, promoting the continuous training and education during their whole life and avoiding feelings such as the isolation, rejection and loneliness.
- Improve the welfare care given to the residents by means of continuous monitoring and analysis of the welfare processes and reduce the response time of the social and medical professionals of the center in view of emergencies and critical situations.
- Remove the feeling of abandon which the direct relatives face when the time comes for admitting their elderly person to the elderly persons’ home and boost dynamic and alternative communication channels which allow strengthening intergenerational ties.
The technological tools to develop by this project try to contribute to promote the Information Society among institutionalized elderly and provide efficient solutions to real problems taking into account the specific needs, worries and demands proposed by the beneficiaries of the system themselves, that is, the elderly, their relatives and the social and medical professionals.
